Safe Space Statement
“In my practice, diversity and inclusion are not just values, but guiding principles. All people across identities, cultural backgrounds, languages, faith traditions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and life experiences are welcome here. This is a space where your full self is invited and honored.
I believe healing is possible when we are met with acceptance and curiosity rather than judgment. My approach begins with meeting you exactly where you are, with who you are. I see therapy as a collaborative exploration of your story, your struggles, and your strengths. My passion lies in understanding humans through the lens of their lived experiences, and together we can create a space that supports both your healing and your growth.
At the same time, I hold myself accountable to the fact that I am a human being with my own biases. I take seriously the responsibility of continuing to grow, reflect, and challenge myself in order to expand my awareness and ensure that my practice remains inclusive and affirming.
My own life has been shaped by navigating difference. Growing up in a multicultural, multilingual home and moving to the U.S. from my native country Japan at the age of 12, I know firsthand what it means to feel “othered,” unseen, or invisible. These experiences deeply inform my commitment to creating a space where no one has to hide parts of themselves to feel accepted.
My intention is to offer a safe and warm environment where you can share, explore, and be curious about who you are as a human being. This is a space for vulnerability, self-discovery, and connection, one where you can be fully seen, fully heard, and fully welcomed.”
